Burns Night

 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Bagpipes, golf, Loch Ness, castles, haggis … Yes, of course you´re thinking about Scotland!

• Today, many Scottish people celebrate BURNS NIGHT, which marks the anniversary of the poet Robert Burns’ birth, one of the most famous and celebrated Scots.
• Many mark the occasion by going to a Burns supper, an evening event that celebrates Robert Burns’ life and work.
• Everyone enjoys a hearty Burns Night meal (which includes haggis, neeps and tatties accompanied by whisky (if you´re of legal age, of course!) , some of Burns’ poems and songs are recited and tributes are paid to the great Bard.
• Today we learnt about Scotland and about this important tradition in the English class.
